  9. a) If the backup is done in the document, the HTML format would need
  10. to change. I'll leave this issue to others.

  12. b) Keeping the data up-to-date, and consistent could be difficult.  For
  13. example, all documents must be relatively addressed to be able to move
  14. them between systems.  This is not always possible, for example, if
  15. different ``schemes'' are used, or if different ports are used on the
  16. same machine, then I believe the whole machine name needs to be
  17. respecified.  This problem could be partially solved by doing a
  18. ``search-and-replace'' on all addresses as the document is moved.

  20. One possible way to implement backups is to have the client do it (makes
  21. the client too clever?).  The client could have a list of hosts, and for
  22. each one, have a list of backup servers, to try if the main server is
  23. down.  The problem with this is that the list is much more difficult
  24. to maintain, if everyone needs a copy, and only the clients that have
  25. implemented this would benefit.
